Important Security Note: There are vulnerabilities in the "current" version of Snipe Gallery (3.1.5), both critical SQL injection vulnerabilities and XSS vulnerabilities.
I will be releasing one final patch of the software, and then I will be formally abandoning the Snipe Gallery project.
The updated package will be available on the sourceforge project page by the end of June 2010.
It was a good run, and a great experience, but I just don't have the time to maintain the project anymore. I haven't in years. (Quite honestly, I didn't think anyone was using it anymore. A google search proves otherwise.)
If anyone would like to pick up Snipe Gallery and resume development on it, by all means, feel free. The code is quite old and dated at this point, so you'd have your work cut out for you.
I'd like to thank everyone who installed it, and strongly advise that they upgrade their image gallery software to something more current and actively maintained.
The last update to this software was in 2008. There are many great image gallery scripts out there now with strong development communities to support them. You should use them. And chip in a buck or two when you can. It's a lot of work to maintain software and keep servers running.
